Annie Sloan Gold Size is a water-based glue and has the advantage of staying sticky when dry, so it’s perfect for applying either bronze powders or metal leaf quickly and easily.
Gold Size is a water-based adhesive with an extended drying time. This characteristic provides users with more time to work with the gold leaf before it sets.
How to use:
- Apply a thin layer over a surface intended for gilding. The adhesive will at first look white, then purple as it dries (this can take up to 15 minutes), and finally transparent.
- Once the adhesive is transparent, it is ready for metal leaf to be applied.
- Lay the leaf carefully onto the sized area, gently smoothing and removing excess leaf with a soft dry cloth.
- Wash brushes in water immediately after use.
