Repair & Mending Policy
We love helping bring loved, vintage, or damaged handmade items back to life! Because
each repair requires unique care, time, and technique, we handle all mending requests under
the following guidelines:
Free In-Store Assessment
Bring your item to the shop for an initial consultation. We will inspect the damage (moth
holes, fraying seams, unraveling granny squares, etc.) to determine if it can be safely and
effectively repaired.
Cleaning Requirement (Strict)
- All items must be freshly washed / dry-cleaned prior to bringing them into the
shop. - For health, hygiene, and pest control reasons (especially regarding moth damage),
unwashed items cannot be left in the shop or accepted for repair.
Estimates & Pricing
- Fees: Repair work is billed at $30 per hour.
- Yarn/Materials: If matching yarn or thread must be purchased from our inventory, materials will be added to the total cost.
- Color/Fiber Match Disclaimer: While we stock a wide variety of yarns and will make every effort to find an exact match; vintage, faded, or discontinued fibers may require a "close match" or a visible mending approach.
Turnaround Time & Payment
- Timeline: Standard repair turnaround is [1 to 2 weeks], depending on current queue
volume and project scope. - Deposit: A $30 non-refundable deposit is required at intake based on the
estimated completion time. The balance is due upon pickup.
Non-Repairable Items
If an item is too fragile, extensively dry-rotted, or structurally unsafe to repair without
causing further damage, we reserve the right to decline the repair.
